He is A-V rated by Martindale-Hubbell Legal Directory and is also a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and the American Bar Association, having served as National Vice-Chair of the ABA Life and Disability Insurance Committee. Mr. deVries received his J.D. degree from UOP-McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento in 1976. While there, his honors included Traynor Honor Society, Dean's List and Associate Editor of Pacific Law Journal. He received a B.A. degree from UCLA in 1967, served in the U.S. Army as a Counter-intelligence Agent from 1968 - 1971, and received an M.A. degree from California State University, Northridge, in 1973. Mr. deVries is a frequent lecturer and author on insurance law and related topics, and has been recognized in Best Lawyers In America and Who's Who In American Law. He was a contributing author for the Insurance Settlement Handbook, 2nd ed. (James Publishing Group, 1992).
